Barry Gill appointed Head of Investments at UBS Asset Management. Ian McIntosh appointed Head of Active Equities
UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) has announced that Barry Gill is appointed as Head of Investments, effective 1 November 2019. He will oversee approximately USD 710bn in assets under management across both traditional and alternative asset classes and be responsible for over 450 investment employees. Barry succeeds Suni Harford, following her recent appointment as President of UBS AM and a member of the Group Executive Board of UBS. He will become a member of the UBS AM Executive Committee, reporting to Suni, and continue to be based in New York.
During his 25-year career at the firm, Barry has worked in both the Investment Bank’s Equities business and in UBS AM’s O’Connor hedge fund before being appointed Head of Active Equities for UBS AM in early 2016.
Barry is succeeded as Head of Active Equities by Ian McIntosh, who has been Deputy Head of the business since 2016. Ian brings a strong investment background, with over 20 years in the industry. He is based in Chicago and will report to Barry.
“We are delighted to have Barry lead the Investments business forward,” said Suni Harford, President of UBS AM. “With Barry’s extensive investment knowledge and proven leadership skills, I am confident that he and the team will continue to build on the foundation we’ve established over the past two years across the full breadth of our integrated Investments platform, with a clear focus on delivering sustainable performance for our clients.”
